Introduction to journal notes on Pilgrimages
Pilgrimage is taking on a journey for a purpose. This can be for adoration, thanksgiving, healing, penance, a closer encounter with GOD, consecration. It is never a trip to a tourist site but rather to a holy place. Pilgrims need to be spiritually prepared before they take on the journey.
The officers, members, volunteers, family, and friends of Deus Noster Foundation Inc (DNFI) embark on pilgrimages together to continuously develop spirituality and a deeper relationship with GOD. Love for GOD is an essential aspect of DNFI spirituality that it strives to deeply embed in each and every soul that is touched by DNFI’s mission. It is for this reason that DNFI established a ministry focused on “Love for GOD” – the Center of Learning on Culture and Spirituality or the LoCuS Ministry.
This section highlights the pilgrimage travels of DNFI and, more importantly, the spiritual journey that comes out of it, featuring blessings, graces, and even miracles, that aim to inspire and bring us closer to GOD. We are sharing our journeys as an invitation to experience God’s glory in understanding the history and significance of the sites and how this in turn deepen our faith and relationship with Him. When we do it in groups, there emerges a sense of community, a preview to how we shall live as God’s children. It is the hope and prayer of DNFI that all who come across these journal reflections be inspired to take on similar journeys and experience the shower of blessings and the grace of enlightenment that will open hearts to GOD, going beyond the physical site and stepping closer towards our spiritual destination who is “Deus Noster”, our GOD.
