The Angelus (Angel) is a prayer of devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. This prayer inspires us to value the meaning of the Annunciation, the Blessed Virgin Mary’s Fiat, and the Incarnation of Jesus Christ, God the Son. In the three verses or versicles, we are encouraged to reflect on the announcement of the angel Gabriel of the birth of the Lord Jesus to the Blessed Virgin Mary; the humble acceptance of the Blessed Virgin Mary as the handmaid of the God; and the Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God who became human and lived with us. By reciting the Hail Mary three times, we are enthused to express our appreciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s significant role in the redemption of the world.
With the regular call to prayer of the Angelus at 6am, 12 noon, and 6 pm (except during the Easter season when the Regina Coeli is prayed instead), we are reminded of the necessity of a daily expression of our love for God through prayers and other acts of devotion.
This 2023 video of the Angelus prayer is produced by the LoCuS Ministry of the Deus Noster Foundation Inc (DNFI), a community of people brought together by GOD to show His love and to teach/spread charity in action to others. The DNFI invites everybody to pray the Angelus and live our life in the presence of GOD the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
